RELEVANCY TO THE CURRENT COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Vicki shared with us that much of her story deals with leading a new organization into the unknown - the challenges, fears, and concerns as you navigate those times with your team.  We can feel "mis-fit" for these times of uncertainty.  Lessons learned will help you discover how you and your organizations can become "better-fits" as you address the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“When you become a conscious leader aware of your strengths and help your associates do so, your organization can transform into a place of exceptional productivity, deliver unrivaled value, innovation and well-being for all! Our company entered a new market in the U.S. and prevailed addressing the unknown.”

Vicki Sandler, former President/CEO of APS Energy Services and a founding board member of Conscious Capitalism Arizona

Vicki Sandler was the senior energy attorney for over 15 years for the largest regulated utility in Arizona. Vicki’s life transformed when she learned to live more from “heart than head” and to listen to her “inner leader.” She left the successful practice of law to pursue her passion in marketing and trading. How she got there laid the path for how she helped others find their “best-fit.”

Vicki became the President/CEO of APS Energy Service’s start-up and entry as the first competitive retail electricity and green energy company in the California market. As an energy services company, APSES provided commodity risk management and procurement services, energy efficiency, district energy, green and sustainability solutions in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas. Vicki attributes the company’s growth to the practice of aligning each person’s natural strengths and values with their work. What Vicki learned from her own journey was successfully institutionalized across the company.

The team at APSES was able to have fun and compete with companies many times its size by awakening the “leader within” – their intuition – and aligning their roles with their natural strengths. They were able to do more and better with less stress. They became “best-fits.” The tools APSES used to increase awareness, identify alignment, and take action to change, resulted in people and a place of exceptional productivity, delivery of unrivaled value, innovation, and well-being in uncertain times.

Vicki will share her experience so that you and your associates can become more conscious individuals and leaders in your workplace - the type of leadership needed now more than ever.

Vicki's Bio:

Vicki Sandler became “Chief Energy Officer” of her own life when she left the successful practice of law to become CEO of a start-up green energy company, APS Energy Services (APSES). APSES grew over ten years from -$10M to $220M in revenues, $80M in assets, and over 100 employees across four states. APSES was eventually sold. Vicki previously held management positions of increasing responsibility in APSES’ sister company, an electric utility, APS. APS was also a subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation, an $11B company.

Prior to her role as an executive, she represented APS before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Arizona Corporation Commission as the senior energy attorney. She handled Federal and State energy and regulatory matters, where she argued a $23M case before the former Justice Antonin Scalia and APS employee equity disputes. Vicki also worked in private practice and clerked for an Arizona Supreme Court Justice.

Vicki has a BS in Economics graduating Phi Beta Kappa, from University of Arizona where she authored recognized papers with economics Nobel laureate, Dr. Vernon Smith. She has a Juris Doctorate, graduating with distinction from Arizona State University, is a founding board member of Conscious Capitalism Arizona, and is the Executive Director of an Energy Association.
